I'll admit it, I LOVE my birthday. I have never been the type to shy away from the attention or presents, and in fact, I have been planning my own birthday party since I can remember. I think it is important to embrace your birthday and surround yourself with people who you love to celebrate the beginning of another year in your life! So, that is exactly what I did! On October 14th, about 30 of my friends gathered at Don Pistos {the BEST Mexican joint in SF, no contest} for a delicious meal, decked out in the silliest party favors I could get my hands on. Animal noses, tacky party hats, over sized kazoo's, foam visors, bunny ears, huge neon sunglasses and of course, sombreros. {See a little trend here?} I thought turning 25 was going to be a little bitter sweet, but so far ... it has been less bitter and more sweet! Thank you to all my friends who came from far and wide to make this my best birthday yet! I adore you all. xxo

Fall Favorites
I recently put together this photo collage, featuring some items I am dreaming about wearing this fall for my friend Chloe's blog Neurotic Delirium. All these items, combined to make an outfit I could practically live in defines what fall dressing is all about. Layers, neutrals, and a pop of color.

Dress Up
Dramatic sleeves & short hemlines. Here are a few dresses on my radar lately.

Blue Angeles
October is by far my favorite month in San Francisco. The weather is absolutely beautiful {for the most part} and weekends are booked solid with events like Oktoberfest, rooftop parties to watch the Blue Angeles, 49ers games, Treasure Island Music Festival, and ... my birthday! This past weekend my friends and I crowded on a rooftop to watch the seriously impressive air show in the crisp blue San Francisco sky. I can't think of any better way to spend my Saturday.
PS. Where's Waldo? Err...Brian Wilson? First one to spot him gets a high five.

The Palms
“I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.” ― Anaïs Nin
I spent this past weekend in Santa Barbara, one of my favorite towns on the California Coast {see last visit, here}. The town of Santa Barbara, embraced between the San Ynez Mountains and Pacific Ocean has an understated elegance and serenity about it that I fell in love with during the 2 years I lived there. The weather couldn't have been more divine and there is something about waking up to the sound and smell of the ocean that is so relaxing. It's such an easy drive down the 101, making it the perfect little weekend escape.
