{Mexico Part I.} Heaven On Earth

{matthew williamson for h&m tunic, vintage christian dior sunglasses, bcbg fedora}

This Thanksgiving, being the unconventional family we are,  we opted for a weekend filled with an abundance of Sunshine, Margaritas and Mexican cuisine instead of the traditional Thanksgiving feast & festivities. To me, it doesn't really matter if you eat turkey or tamales, as long as you are surrounded by loved ones and take the time to give thanks for all the wonderful pleasures in life that is what Thanksgiving is all about. Although I did miss my extended family {and my moms goat cheese mashed potatoes, yummmm} I throughly enjoyed relaxing the long weekend away at the exquisite Esperanza resort in Cabo San Lucas. This Auberge Resort, rated #1 resort, #1 spa & #1 service in Mexico is a getaway fit for a King {or a Princess in my case} and truly a destination everyone should treat themselves a visit to once in their lives! Here is the first installment of photos from the trip, stay tuned for more in the coming days!

The Angel Wears Prada

Italian couture and cocktails? Don't mind if I do! Last night I joined a bevy of charitable shoppers for an event at the Prada flagship store in San Francisco. This holiday kick-off party was to benefit the Children of Shelters charity and by the looks of all the Prada shopping bags leaving the store, I think it's safe to say that the event was a grandoise success! I had a fabulous time catching up with my friend Melissa, watching my friend Eric try on sport coats and suits, and running into fellow bloggers and friends alike!

After the event, we went down the street to Eric's office where he gave me a tour of this beautiful art gallery just across from the conference room. Pretty spectacular if you ask muah!

Ohmigod

I know this is no new news, although I wouldn't be a proper fashion blogger if I didn't mention the Lanvin for H&M collaboration. My sweet friend Savannah, {who is always hip with the pop culture + everything that has to do with fashion} sent me this video and Ohmigod it made me even more excited {if that's even possible} to snag some of the fabulous designs Alber Elbaz so brilliantly created. Virtually every piece in this collection is under $100 and screams ' wear me to a fancy dancy Holiday SoireĆ© '. I assure you, in one of those dresses you will be the chicest dame at the party! Below you will find very few of my must have's, i'd buy the entire collection if money was no object. So tell me, which pieces are you going to grab?
{The launch date is set for November 23rd, you can find the entire collection here.}

Tuesday Tunes-Day Volume XI

{from left to right - cody townsend, dash longe, erik roner & sage cattabriga-alosa}

Last Wednesday I headed into the city with Lindsey and Justine to watch, 'Light The Wick' a 3D & HD ski + snowboard film at the Palace Of Fine Art. My friend Dash and a few of his buddies {Erik Roner, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa & Cody Townsend} graced us with their presence to sign posters, talk about what it was like riding untouched mountains & hand out a slew of schwag. It was an incredible film with a great soundtrack that accompanied their adventures through some insane terrain around the world. After the film we headed over to Tipsy Pig for an evening of hilarity and craziness that inevitably ensues hanging with these guys. As we settled at our table we realized that they were not the only athletes in sight...enter Aubrey Huff. It was a pretty huge scene considering the Giants World Series win {eff ya!} the night before and the big parade that rocked the city of San Francisco earlier that day. It turned out to be a very entertaining evening which ultimately inspired this Tuesday Tunes-Day. Here's a peek at some photos from the event as well as my favorite tracks from TGR's 'Light The Wick' soundtrack {with a few of my current favorites mixed in}!

Holdon - Apparat
We Have Band - Divisive
Down On Me - Jeremih feat. 50 Cent
Paper Romance - Groove Armada
Firework - Katy Perry
Sympathy For The Devil - The Rolling Stones
Right Above It - Lil Wayne feat. Drake
Take It Slow - Grand Analog
What's My Name - Rihanna
Runaway - Kanye West

One Year Young

Today marks 1 year since I have started writing this blog!! It has been such an amazing creative outlet for me and I am so flattered when I hear people say they enjoy reading it! When I sat down to write out my first post, I could have never imagined how far it was going to come in just one year. Between a feature in San Francisco Magazine, interviews, invites to fabulous events and collaborations I can't help but be so grateful I decided to create Sooo Gigi. Some people don't get the blogging world, and to tell you the truth before I started this blog I didn't really either. I now realize what an important skill it is to be able to navigate the Internet and use blogging as a social media tool. My sincerest gratitude to everyone who visits this site, I hope I can keep you coming back with more intriguing posts in the years to come!

xxo, Gigi

One year recap of Sooo Gigi...
{Big thanks to Justine Macfee my fabulously creative friend from Low Budget Rockstars for creating this video!}

Never Settle

{images via Le Love}

It's a perfectly rainy Sunday here and I can't help but want to stay in bed all day reading magazines & blogs with bottomless cups of french press coffee. One of the blogs I frequent is Le Love, a blog "dedicated to love...the good, the bad and the unknown ♥ " It's an adorable blog with sweet images that I could spend hours catching up on. Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday, whether your treating yourself to a lazy day or not :)

Oh, and I am so excited to be the Guest Editor of LoveLiveandWear this month. Check out the style sheet below that Lauren Brown of LoveLiveandWear put together with images of items I currently can't live without!

Top of The MET

me and my boys.

Coco Chanel once said, Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” This quote rings true especially in the electric city of New York. The inspiration I got from the architecture of the buildings, pieces inside the museums, people walking the streets of Brooklyn and the Upper East Side, created a sensory overload. One of the beautiful days in NY was spent with my family at the MET. As I was exploring the museum and all it's prized possessions I snapped a few photos, here's a peek at a few of my favorite ones...
